We were asked to audit and assess a software development organisation following acquisition.   In addition, we were invited to make recommendations for change in the organisational structure and its processes to improve the predictability and reliability of software development.

The acquiring company were exposed to a significant risk of losing the key developers of the undocumented core software product.  

We reverse-engineered the software to create full system documentation.  We built and managed a new team to whom knowledge of the system was transferred. 

The product went on being developed and maintained in the new facility.

We were retained as interim management of a development organisation to prepare it for a major international bid to provide healthcare systems to a Scandinavian, public sector healthcare organisation. 

We assisted our client to bid for and win a major international procurement that led to sales over an 18-month period equivalent to a five-fold increase in the company’s previous annual turnover.

This interim management assignment involved the

·       Complete reorganisation and expansion of the development group

·       Introduction of industry standard development, testing and deployment processes

·       Passing the detailed customer audit from the outset

The result was the delivery, on time, of the largest clinical management system of its type at that time.
