The assignment was to document a requirements specification for a new pharmacy system including drug database, indications and prescribing. The client had been working on the specifications for 12 months but had made little progress.
Our analysis showed that product managers, in this case pharmacists, and development staff, whilst specialists in their own areas did not understand the required process well. The effective capture, documentation and agreement of specifications is a collaborative process.

A requirements specification was fully documented at the end of 12 (elapsed) weeks. Our consultant acted as author. Upon completion system design and implementation commenced.
